Season six Idol winner Jordin Sparks will appear at a special concert to celebrate Milton Hershey School’s 100th anniversary at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Giant Center in Hershey.

The event is a private function for Milton Hershey School students, staff and alumni. But 100 others will win two free tickets to the show, the school announced Wednesday morning.

To register for a chance to win the tickets, you need to visit the Milton Hershey School’s Founders Hall in Hershey on Saturday, Sept. 26, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. No purchase is necessary, according to the school; only U.S. residents 18 or older are eligible. Contest rules will be posted inside Founders Hall.

Tours will be available that day, and visitors will be asked to watch one of two showings of “Living the Legacy: The Untold Story of Milton Hershey School,” by Academy Award winning documentary filmmaker Cynthia Ward. The film will be shown at 4 and 7 p.m. in the Founders Hall Auditorium.

“The goal is to get people to learn about the school,” said Connie McNamara, director of communications. “Milton Hershey School is still one of the best kept secrets in the area.”

The concert is being held to celebrate Founders Day, the day in 1909 when Milton and Catherine Hershey signed the deed of trust, establishing the school. Milton Hershey School offers “a cost-free, private, co-educational home and school for children from families of low income, limited resources, and social need,” according to the press release. Sparks is on tour promoting her second album, “Battlefield.” The “Battlefield” single from that album is number 14 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
