Week two of Season 2 of The Four is in the books.
And there are two new members of The Four — Whitney Reign and Jesse Kramer.
Meanwhile, producers will be watching and hoping this week’s ratings aren’t as embarrassing as last week’s.
Oh, you didn’t hear? The Four had a dismal 0.7 rating among 19-49 year olds, last among shows aired by the four major networks.
The Season 2 premiere drew approximately 2.43 million fans, nearly 1 million fewer than any Season 1 episode.
And in week two, The Four and its audience got very little right.
The Four Got It Wrong:
Stephanie Zelaya should have won her challenge against Whitney Reign. She proved the more original of the two, showing off great dance moves and a great voice. Memo to Meghan Trainor: Sit down and shut up during the performance. And for a supposedly ground-breaking show, why in the world are you going crazy over yet another rendition of the done-to-death “Man’s World.” If The Four wants to be ground-breaking, develop a list of the 100 most overdone singing show songs, then forbid anyone from singing them. Guarantee “Man’s World” would be on that list.
I don’t know how you show more versatility in a single song that Majeste Pearson did during her cover of Demi’s “Stone Cold.” One second she was showing off her powerful voice and hitting the stratosphere; the next she was delivering a tender and pitch-perfect ending. Jesse Kramer’s “Watchtower” was fine, but also pretty much what you’d expect from a cover of the “Watchtower” on a televised singing show.
The Four Got It Wrong Even When It Got It Right
Yep, Sharaya J. deserved the win in her rap showdown with James Farrow. I lost interest midway through his performance while Sharaya commanded my attention from beginning to end. BUT, that lecture delivered by DJ Khalid? Really? “Don’t ever disrespect nobody on this stage,” he said. Was he listening at all to Sharaya’s lyrics? “Be humble.” Yep, that’s the word for The Four: Humble. Everything about this show just screams “humble.” LOL.
She auditioned and should have gotten to challenge
I liked Stella Amore’s “Mad World” better than Whitney Reign’s “It’s a Man’s World.” Yet Whitney is a member of the four and Stella didn’t even get to challenge for a seat. Go figure.
They also auditioned:

Majeste was definitely robbed. She sings on the level of Whitney and Mariah, just brought down the house! We actually stopped watching when she was eliminated, not the show for us lol.
