The Voice was nominated for a best reality competition show Emmy Monday night.

But the win went to The Amazing Race, the show that has dominated the category since it was created in 2003.

It marked the 10th time The Amazing Race has snagged the Emmy.

The lone exceptions came in 2010 when Top Chef took the honor and last year when The Voice became the first reality singing show to claim the Emmy.

For those wondering, American Idol was nominated every year from 2003 through 2011, but never won.

Other nominees this year included So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, Top Chef and Project Runway.
