Christina Grimmie is being honored by her family through the creation of The Christina Grimmie Foundation.

The Voice took time in Tuesday’s elimination show to announce the creation of the Christina Grimmie Foundation.

The foundation was created by Christina’s family in honor of the singer, who placed third on Season 6 of The Voice but was tragically shot to death following a show in Florida last summer.

It will raise funds for two causes: support for families who are affected by gun violence and to support breast cancer patients and their families.

The gun violence link is obvious. The breast cancer connection? It comes because of the support Christina showed to her mother, Tina, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

You can learn more about the foundation on its website. Links for donations and to purchase Christina’s music are also there.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of that music will go to the foundation.

To keep Christina’s legacy alive, her family and management team released a “Side B” EP of four unreleased tracks last week. A full album is coming June 2, which just happens to be Gun Violence Awareness Day.

The new music is being released with the help of Republic Records and ZXL Music.

During Tuesday’s show, Adam Levine — Christina’s coach on The Voice — also dedicated a group performance of “Hey Jude” to the late singer.

“I love her so much,” he said of Christina. “I miss her. It’s not fair that she’s not here.”
