A duet recorded by Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks for the film “Sparkle” will be released as a single on iTunes on June 5.
The news comes the day after Jordin performed a stirring tribute to Whitney at the Billboard Music Awards.
A snippet of the duet — a song named “Celebrate” — aired on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning.
Jordin has since posted a full version on her website, and I’ve embedded it below.
“Sparkle” won’t be released until Aug. 17. Jordin plays one of three daughters of Whitney, all of whom are looking to break into the music business.
On the Billboard Music Awards, Jordin sang “I Will Always Love You.” And she told MTV before the performance that she was a little nervous about the upcoming performance.
“I’ve actually never performed this song before ever. It’s one of the songs I’ve always been like, ‘Leave that alone,’ so it’s nerve-racking for me,” she said. You can read the full interview here.
Whitney died at age 48 back in February, on the eve of the 2012 Grammys.
Now, here’s the song … “Celebrate.”
