Which coach has the strongest team entering the battle round of The Voice?

Well, this is a show where the blind auditions are fueled by spinning red chairs.

And on that basis, the answer is easy: Alicia Keys.

Here’s why.

For starters, the 12 artists on Alicia’s team turned more chairs collectively (28), than the 12 artists on any other team.

Secondly, in Terrence Cunningham and Johnny Bliss, Alicia landed two of only five singers who turned four chairs during the blind auditions. Kelly Clarkson also landed two (Hannah Goebel and Justin Kilgore). Blake landed one (Pryor Baird).

Finally, just four singers turned three chairs in during the Season 14 blinds. Three of them — Britton Buchanan, Christiana Danielle and Livia Faith — wound up on Team Alicia.

Does that mean the Season 14 winner is lurking on Team Alicia?

Maybe. Maybe not.

Remember, those chair turns are based on just one performance. And just last fall, Season 12, The Voice finals didn’t include a single singer who turned four chairs. In fact, no member of the Top 11 turned four chairs.

Of course, that was Alicia’s first season as coach. And she won. With Chris Blue. The very last artist (presumably) to make the show.
