After The Voice

With fans’ help, Ellie Lawrence releases her post-Voice EP

cracking the Top 24 on Season 9 of The Voice, Ellie Lawrence launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund an EP.

She reached her $5,000 goal in just two days.

On Friday, the result of all that fan support was released — an EP called “If You Knew Me.”

And Ellie cracked the Top 10 on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart even quicker, already sitting at number eight as of 1 a.m.

The highlight of the five-track EP is a ballad called “Unraveled” that you can check out at right.

You can listen to full-length versions of two other songs — DNA and Bear Knuckles — on Ellie’s YouTube channel.

Ellie, from Calhoun, Ga., was 26 when she auditioned for The Voice and landed a spot on Team Gwen.

You might remember her best for her blue hair. Or for her audition song, “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off.” Only three blind audition songs in Season 9 charted higher on iTunes.

But Ellie told Voice Views back in November that she was eager to get original music in front of fans and that she had written some of the material for the EP while still on the show.

“I can show the world my true voice and personality more so than the snippets that they got to see on the Voice,” she said at the time.
