Lauren Alaina will perform at the York Fair for the third time come September.

She’s one of 12 artists who will be featured in the WGTY Great Country lineup at this year’s fair.

And since it’s the 250th anniversary of the fair and Lauren is this year’s final WGTY Great Country performer, her Sunday, Sept. 20, show will take place in the fair’s grandstand rather than the Great Country Radio Stage.

And, remember, all of these shows are free with admission to the fair.

Lauren, the runner-up to Scotty McCreery on Season 10 of American Idol, was also part of the Great Country lineup at the fair in 2012 and 2013.

And this will mark her fourth performance in York since she also headlined the Jingle Bell Jam at the fairgrounds a couple of years back.

By the time she arrives in York, Lauren might have a new single out and several other new songs on her set list.

She told The Boot last month that she plans to release a single in late summer or early fall and that she has finished recording a second album, but doesn’t have a release date.

Lauren has released just one single (“Barefoot and Buckwild” in 2013) since her debut album (“Wildflower”) came out way back in 2011.

Part of the reason for the long gap between albums is that the 20-year-old had to take nearly a year break from singing and touring following vocal cord surgery last year.

But the new album will have more of a Lauren Alaina stamp than her first. Lauren told The Boot she has a writing credit on 11 of the 12 songs on her sophomore album compared to just one on “Wildflower.”

And she told Taste of Country that fans should expected a different sound this time around.
