Wyatt Rivers was revealed as the winner of the second Comeback Stage battle round showdown for The Voice Monday night.

The Comeback Stage is a new twist for The Voice, offering an opportunity for one artist who didn’t turn a chair during the blind auditions to make it to the live shows.

Last week, Ayanna Joni was revealed as the first battle round winner on the Comeback Stage, defeating Madison Cain.

The match posted to social media Monday pitted Wyatt, 22, of Durham, N.C., against Sam Robbins, 21, Portsmouth, N.H.

Sam put an acoustic spin on “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” by The Temptations. Wyatt performed “One Call” by Charlie Puth.

Comeback Stage coach Kelsea Ballerini liked the confidence Sam showed, saying his experience from playing shows for years was obvious in his performance.

But she also praised the improvement Wyatt showed from rehearsals to final performance and said the sound of his recorded voice “is magical.”

Sorry, but I think Kelsea got this one wrong. Just like during his audition, Wyatt encountered some pitch problems. And I’m not sure he opened his eyes during the entire performance.

One Comeback Stage battle remains. That one will be between Ele Ivory and Lynnea Moorer.
