With the launch of his summer tour just a week away, American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips took the Today Show stage on Friday. He played his signature song “Home,” confessed that live TV still makes him nervous and admitted he’s still sometimes insecure about his singing voice.
Season 4 Voice winner Danielle Bradbery cracked the top 20 on the Billboard 200 chart this week. And that’s in spite of the fact that the songs include on her Voice compilation album were already available for download as singles.
The singing shows seem to be cranking out lots of new country music lately. From Season 12 Idol runner-up Kree Harrison, to Season 3 Voice winner Cassadee Pope to Season 4 Voice winner Danielle Bradbery, an awful lot of new or semi-new country singers are vying for the public’s attention.
We caught a glimpse of Gwen Sebastian singing backup for Blake Shelton on The Voice this season. But the Season 2 contestant is still making her own music.
Now that The Voice has ended for Season 4, I can catch up with news about former American Idol contestants. Let’s start with Josh Gracin, who finished fourth way back on Season 2 of Idol.

Danielle Bradbery became the youngest winner in The Voice’s four seasons Tuesday night. She topped Michelle Chamuel and The Swon Brothers for the show’s title, the cash prize and the recording contract that go with it. In the process, she gave Blake Shelton his third consecutive Voice title.
