They might not be on American Idol anymore, but it’s time to start voting for Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood.
They’ve been nominated for 2010 CMT Music Awards, and voting to determine the final four nominees in each category runs through May 11 on the CMT Web site.
Carrie has three nominations this year, including Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year for “Cowboy Casanova.”
She’ll be trying to end Taylor Swift’s two-year winning streak in both categories. Of course, Taylor — Miss Win Everything Lately — is also nominated in those categories for her video to “You Belong With Me.”
Speaking of Taylor, she shares in one of Kellie’s nominations, for “Best Days of Your Life” in the collaborative video category. It’s the song they co-wrote about one of Kellie’s ex-
boyfriends.
Kellie’s also nominated in the Female Video of the Year category for “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You.”
While they missed out last year, Kellie and Carrie aren’t exact strangers to the awards podium at the CMTs.
Carrie won Breakthrough Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year in 2006 with “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” then won Video the Year and Female Video of the Year in 2007 with “Before He Cheats.”
Kellie won in 2008 for Breakthrough Video of the Year and Performance Video of the Year for her song, “I Wonder.”
The awards show will be broadcast June 9. Here’s a list of all the nominees in the categories in which Carrie and Kellie are nominated.
