The Voice is retaining a key change to voting rules made last spring.
Once again this fall, voters will be able to cast just one vote per email address.
That means no more voting for multiple contestants at the same time.
That, folks, was a key factor to Team Blake dominating The Voice finale season after season.
And I’m convinced the rule change played a role in Gina Miles’ Season 23 victory.
That’s because Team Blake fans had to choose between voting for Grace West or Noivas in the season finale.
Well, Blake’s gone now. The Voice has a new and very talented cast of 12 live show contestants.
And if any team is affected by the one-vote limit, it’s likely to be Team Niall, which boasts three potential finalists in Nini Iris, Mara Justine and Huntley.

The Voice has apparently also ended its one-episode experiment with live voting from Season 23.
Each of this season’s three live shows will be followed by an overnight voting window that will run until 7 a.m. eastern time the next morning.
Unfortunately, though, the instant save is back.
That would be the instant save conducted on East Coast time, though lots of people aren’t watching The Voice on East Coast time.
That would be the instant save that’s grossly unfair to West Coast contestants and will put Lila Forde (hometown Seattle), Jacquie Roar (from Oregon) and Kara Tenae (Riverside, Calif.) at a major disadvantage should they wind up needing said save.
All voting, overnight or instant save, will be conducted online and on The Voice app again this fall.
This week, three singers head home, leaving a cast of nine for the semifinals.
Those nine will each perform a solo song and as part of a trio the following Monday (Dec. 11) for a chance to make the finale.
And let me get this gripe out of the way right now, though I’ll likely be tempted to repeat it.
With a cast this deep and talented and with so few live shows, The Voice should …
1. Cut the field to the normal eight for the semifinals.
2. Then leave each of the eight perform two solos during a Dec. 11 show chock full of music and minus lots of The Voice’s normal gab.
3. That would eliminate the need for pointless trio performances on a competition night.
The live shows begin Monday at 8 p.m. Results will be announced during a 9 p.m. eastern Tuesday show. The will be preceded by a one-hour recap of what happened Monday night.
And I’ll be posting song by song grades for the Top 12 after Monday’s show.

Your opinions are not gripes.
They absolutely are good points.
American Idol had (and still has) the WGWG problem. Blake was The Voice equivalent of that.
Glad they are keeping that change.
okay by me
