Will Moseley said there’s a simple reason he decided to audition for American Idol with an original called “Gone for Good.”

The 23-year-old from Hazlehurst, Ga., told a local TV station he considers it one of the better songs he’s written.

And in addition to showcasing his voice, he “wanted to show something to the world … that I created. Music is art. And it’s an art piece I’m proud of.”

The audition, of course, earned him a unanimous golden ticket from the judges.

And “Gone for Good” rocketed to number two on the Apple Music country chart, right between Beyonce and Luke Combs.

Will’s been impressing on American Idol ever since. And Sunday at 8 p.m., he’ll compete against Abi Carter and Jack Blocker for the Season 22 American Idol title.
