Olivier Bergeron of American Idol Season 23

Olivier Bergeron is among the artists who auditioned for Season 23 of American Idol.

American Idol officially returns Sunday, March 9 with Carrie Underwood joining Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan at the judges’ table.

A sneak peek will air Sunday on ABC after the Oscars.

Here’s more about Olivier.

* He’s a pop singer-songwriter from New Brunswick, Canada, with lots of music already released.

* That music is in French and includes a six-song EP called “Dans un vieux placard (In an Old Closet)” that came out in November.

* On Facebook, Olivier explains that he wrote the title track just before the COVID pandemic, in an apartment clos to the Saint Laurent River in Rimouski (a city in Quebec). “This song is me, this is the story of my life,” Olivier writes.

* He’s no stranger to singing competitions, having auditioned for Star Academie in Canada in 2022. He made it all the way to the semifinals. He was 20 when he auditioned for the show.

* To date, his most popular song is his debut single, “La chance de revre,” with more than 125,000 streams on Spotify. That song came out about a year ago.

* Olivier has a great voice and sings a bit of English on a catchy pop song from his EP called “Avant de partir” (translates to “Before Leaving”). You can check it out below.

* He has more than 13,000 followers and more than 125,000 likes on his TikTok.
