Jay Ammon turned four chairs and eight other singers earned spots on The Voice as the Season 27 blind auditions concluded Monday night.

Jay opted to join Team Legend, which means all eight singers who turned four chairs in the blinds opted to join either John’s team (three four-chair turns) or Adam Levine’s (five four-chair turns).

Also earning spots on the show Monday were Adam David, Alanna Lynise, Brook Wood, Naomi Soleil, Pablo Herrera, Simone Marijic, Tori Templet and Trevon Dawson.

Here’s a recap, with Voice Views picks for the night’s best performances. Follow the links for more on each singer.

BEST OF THE NIGHT

Alanna Lynise, 21, Toledo, Ohio, “Issues” by Julia Michaels: Displaying an absolutely lovely tone, Alanna earned early chair turns from Adam Levine and Michael Buble. She continued delivering a superb vocal, prompting Kelsea Ballerini to turn too. John Legend couldn’t turn because his team was already full, but said he would have within 15 seconds if it wasn’t. Adam called her performance “so cool” and said her voice is “memorable.” Michael suggests Alanna could win the show. Kelsea says she thinks she’s best suited to relate to a young artist. Alanna decided to join Team Kelsea.

RUNNERS-UP

Brook Wood, 33, New York, N.Y., “Save Me” by Jelly Roll: Dang, what a nice soulful voice. Brook earns an early chair turn from John Legend. Eventually, Brook’s impassioned performance got Kelsea Ballerini to turn as well. Kelsea said Brook “killed it.” She liked her rock and her rasp. Adam called her power incredible. John said Brook has the kind of voice that could win the show. Brook opts to join Team Kelsea.

Pablo Herrera, 31, San Diego, Calif., “Jealous” by Labrynth: Pablo’s soulful performance enticed early chair turns from John Legend and Michael Buble. Pablo showed off a really nice tone. Kelsea Ballerini eventually turned as well. Kelsea loved the way Pablo made the song his own. Michael said Pablo has no boundaries as an artist and could be a huge international star. John called his performance beautiful and touching. Pablo decided to join Team Legend, completing his team.

ALSO MADE THE SHOW

Jay Ammo, 29, Clarksville, Tenn., The A Team by Ed Sheeran: Jay is from Guyana. His gentle opening earns chairs turns from Adam Levine, John Legend and Kelsea Ballerini. Michael Buble eventually turns as well, giving him a four-chair turn. John complimented him on a lovely voice. Adam said Jay’s voice is special and magical and unique to the competition. Michael said he has a “beautiful tone.” Jay opted to join Team Legend.

Adam David, 34, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., “Baby, I Love Your Way” by Peter Frampton: Adam delivered a fine performance, with a reggae vibe, but got a chair turn only from Michael. In spite of an impressive ending. I’m wondering how many teams had spots available when he auditioned. Remember, The Voice DOES NOT show us these auditions in the order they really occurred. Michael praised Adam’s character voice and his control of the performance. Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini agreed Adam has a unique sound.

Simone Marijic, 20, Los Angeles, Calif., “Favorite Crime” by Olivio Rodrigo: Simone earned a quick chair turn from Kelsea Ballerini with her unique singer-songwriter sound. Simone also has an interesting cry in her voice. Michael Buble turned near the end of her performance. Kelsea liked the way she nailed a very challenging song. Michael said Simone has “the voice of an angel.” Simone decided to join Team Kelsea.

Tori Templet, 24, Atlanta, Ga., “Lover” by Taylor Swift: Hmm, another very nice singer-songwriter voice. Tori earned chair turns from Michael Buble and Adam Levine once she hit the chorus. Once she got the first chair turn, her performance got even stronger. Michael called her voice “beautiful.” Kelsea loved the way she made a Taylor song her own. Adam liked the purity and simplicity of Tori’s voice. She opted to join Team Adam.

Naomi Soleil, 18, Maplewood, N.J., “Stars” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals: Displaying a unique tone and ample power behind it, young Naomi earned late chair turns from Adam Levine and Michael Buble. Adam liked her phrasing and loved her outfit. Michael said she has a cool and interesting voice. She decided to join Team Michael.

Trevon Dawson, 17, Missouri, “Religiously” by Bailey Zimmerman: Only Adam Levine had a spot remaining when Trevon auditioned. And Trevon’s country vocals prompted a chair turn from a coach who’s been wanting a country singer on his team and was in a position where he didn’t have to compete with Kelsea Ballerini to land him. Trevon’s nerves showed early in the performance, but he found his groove on the chorus and wound up showing off a very powerful voice. Adam called his “way together” for a 17-year-old.
