A day removed from his elimination on American Idol, Olivier Bergeron says “I’ve finally found my path.”
The 22-year-old from Kedgwick in New Brunswick, Canada, has been hoping for a career in music.
He’s been working as a truck driver back home, but has released a good bit of music, albeit all of it in French.
That music includes a six-song EP called “Dans un vieux placard (In an Old Closet)” that came out in November.
Olivier made it to the Top 20 on Idol, but was eliminated on Monday’s show when the judges didn’t grant him one of their four wild cards into the Top 14.
He was dubbed the show’s rocker, and had been delivering stronger performances every time he took the Idol stage.
“I want to thank everyone who supported me and believed in me from start to finish!!🎤🌟,” Olivier writes in his latest Instagram post. “This is only the beginning of my career. I’ve finally found my path.
“I learned English on the fly, met incredible people, and I’m proud of this adventure.
“My goal was to make it as far as possible in the competition, and I believe I achieved my personal challenge. See you soon on stage!!”
