His audition: Conrad Kahlil, 28, of Newark, N.J., performed “Caught Up” by Ushe. The Voice showed only a snippet of Conrad’s audition. He showed off a powerful voice in the bit viewers heard. Reba McEntire was the only coach to turn. She praised his voice, his emotion and his range.

Here’s more about Conrad:

* He’s Conrad Khalil Dupree, a New Jersey native in his late 20s, now based in L.A. as an artist and content creator. He moved to L.A. in 2023.

* And according to his Spotify bio, he’s planning to release a debut R&B EP this year featuring “soaring belts filled with inspirational lyrics and falsettos to makes listeners melt.”

* He’s already released music in the form of three singles, “Good Boy,” “Closer” and “I’m Him.”

* The former was his debut single and dropped in 2018. “I’m Him” is his latest release, dropping in June. Check out the video for “Closer” below.

* Pre-Voice, Conrad had more than 5,000 followers and more than 160,000 likes on his TikTok.

* Judging from a life update he posted in the spring of 2024, he’s also a photographer with musical artists and actors on his client list.

* “I couldn’t deny, delay and neglect my gift in music, my love and passion for making music and performing,” he says in the video, posted after the release of “Closer.” “I’m learning how to walk in my artist shoes and actually promote myself like one.”

* In an older video, he says his musical influences include John Legend, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Miguel and Donny Hathaway.

* He says he caught the singing bug at 14 and enrolled in an arts school. He started out as a TV major before switching his focus to music.
