Jackson Inman of American Idol Season 24
Idol returned to ABC on Monday, Jan. 26 with the judging trio of Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie. Audition episodes air Monday at 8 p.m. though Feb. 16.
Here’s more about Jackson:
* He’s an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Armory, Mississippi, with music already releaased.
* And if that town name sounds familiar to Idol fans, it’s little wonder. That’s also the hometown of Season 21 finalist Colin Stough.
* Jackson’s latest single is a song called “15 Again.” He wrote it about a tornado that ripped through the community in March of 2023 “and absolutely destroyed half of my town … our town.” Check it out below.
* Jackson also released a five-song EP called “Too Much on My Mind” last year. And he’d previously released three other singles not included in that collection.
* On Spotify, he apologizes for the quality of the recordings, saying many of the songs were recorded on his Ipad in his room at 2 a.m. and promising that they “will be re-recorded one day.”
* Jackson’s Instagram is also packed with impressive originals. One of them is a tribue to his older brother Kooper, who passed away in November 2023 at age 21.
* In a recent interview, Jackson said he didn’t always want to pursue music. But he grew up around county music and grew to love the emotions, story-telling and honesty in the genre.
* One of his biggest musical influences is Zach Bryan, an artist Jackson says he’s been listening to since eighth grade.
* Jackson already has more than 11,500 followers and nearly 400,000 likes on his TikTok.
