Anna McElroy from The Voice Season 30

The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.

Here’s more about Anna:

* She’s a 27-year-old Nashville-based country singer and songwriter. Anna was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama.

* In March of 2025, she was flashing a big smile in an Instagram post announcing that she had earned a golden ticket to Hollywood on American Idol.

* The smile had disappeared in an Instagram post a couple of weeks later. The accompanying caption: “Swipe to see my mood when you go on a singing show but they don’t show you singing.”

* Anna’s been singing for a long time — since she discovered her love of music at age 4. According to web bios, she performed in her church’s choir throughout her childhood and has been performing live shows since 2016.

* A turning point for Anna came in 2018 when she attended the Pensacola Songwriters Fest and met a pair of well-known Nashville songwriters. She moved to Nashville and began working alongside them.

* Anna released five singles between 2021 and 2022, including “Water My Roots” and “Real Tractors Are Green.” The songs are no longer available on streaming sites, but are still on Anna’s YouTube.

* Plenty more examples of her singing talent are available on her social media. She has more than 550,000 likes on her TikTok. Check out “Damn Cowboys,” a song she co-wrote, below.

* As a performer, Anna has opened for Sara Evans, Lee Ann Womack and Joe Diffie.

* And Idol wasn’t her only singing show experience when she arrived for The Voice auditions. In 2021, she was a judge and guest performer for a new TV show called “Nashville’s Next Best Of 3.” The show aired for just one season.
