Amanda Mikkel, 31, Los Angeles, Calif., “Moon River” by Andy Williams: Amanda’s wonderful tone enticed almost immediate chair turns from Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson. And Amanda was barely a minute into her performance when she had all four coaches facing in her direction. Adam she has the purity and luxury of having “just a beautiful voice.” He said he connected instantly to the soulfulness and softness of her voice. Kelly called her tone beautiful, glorious and special. Riley said Amanda’s audition seemed more like a performance. Adam didn’t even give Amanda a chance to choose a coach. He pushed his first-in button to claim her for his team.

RUNNER-UP

Morgan Lett, 27, Atlanta, Ga., “I’m Goin’ Down” by Mary J. Blige: Morgan immediately shows off a great voice. Queen Latifah recognized it and turned quickly. Morgan continued a soulful performance, sprinkled with vocal gymnastics, getting Riley to turn too. Riley called her performance “awesome,” adding that she hit some notes he never dreamed of touching. Queen Latifah said she liked he fact that Morgan did the song her own way, an indication she could put her spin on all kinds of songs, a key factor for success on The Voice. Morgan decided to join Team Latifah.

Kenna Elpers, 23, Cynthiana, Indiana, “White Horse” by Chris Stapleton: Kenna’s high-energy performance prompted a chair turn from Queen Latifah before she even hit the chorus. A big note at the end enticed Riley to turn as well. Though she didn’t turn, Kelly praised her “big ‘ol voice.” Queen Latifah called her “amazing,” saying she sensed some nerves in the beginning, but the performance got stronger and stronger. Riley said he enjoyed the performance and assured Kenna a case of nerves is something she can beat. Turns out Kenna opened for Riley at a music festival back in 2023. And she chooses to join Team Riley.

Brooklyn Marie, 14, Alexandria, Minnesota, “Traitor” by Olivia Rodrigo: Brooklyn’s vulnerable delivery a quick chair turn from Queen Latifah. Oh, my, Brooklyn is absolutely adorable and talented. Kelly Clarkson turns and is clearly shocked by Brooklyn’s youth. Queen Latifah said her voice sounded special “right away” and praised her ending as well. Kelly was startled to realize Brooklyn is so young, reminded her that she loves working with young contestants and knows how to navigate a singing show. Brooklyn opted to join Team Kelly.

Kyle Davis, 61, Prince George, Va., “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel: Kyle’s putting his own spin on this classic, and it’s impressive. Kelly Clarkson turned early. Riley Green soon followed. Adam Levine and Queen Latifah joined the chair turn party near the end of the performance. Kelly said he has a voice that is “so special, the perfect blend of story-telling, rasp and heartache.” She swore she could win the show with Kyle. Adam loved the “broken emotional feeling” in Kyle’s performance. Riley called his performance “the most unique thing we’ve heard.” Kyle decided to join Team Kelly.
