We’re just days away from the Tuesday release of Danny Gokey’s debut country album, “My Best Days.”

And Danny will be a featured guest on this week’s American Idol results show, performing his first single from that album, “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me.”

That song was released two months ago, and the video for it was released Feb. 2. It has yet to crack the top 30 on Billboard’s country singles chart, but might get a boost from Thursday’s Idol appearance and the album release.

Among the other songs on the album, I’m particularly fond of “It’s Only,” a tune perfectly suited for Danny.

The album was produced by Mark Bright, the same guy who produced Carrie Underwood’s last two albums and several songs on her “Some Hearts” debut.
