Carrie Underwood, a TV star?

Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

But she did look mighty comfortable during that Christmas special back in December.

And now she’ll be a guest star on an episode of the Emmy-nominated TV comedy “How I Met Your Mother.”

According to Carrie’s MySpace blog, she’ll play a character named Tiffany, “an enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep” and a love interest for Ted (Josh Radnor).

For those who haven’t watched, the show also stars Jason Segel (Marshall), Alyson Hannigan (Lily), Neil Patrick Harris (Barney) and Cobie Smulders (Robin). Alyson Hannigan just won a People’s Choice Award for her role; Neil Patrick Harris will be one of Idol’s guest judges during the audition round this year.

The CBS comedy airs Mondays at 8 p.m.

As for Carrie’s episode, it’s supposed to be filmed later this month and air sometime in March.

Of course, that will coincide with Carrie’s “Play On” tour.
