American Idol’s first heartthrob is about to get hitched.

Justin Guarini, 30, runner-up to Kelly Clarkson in season one will marry Reina Capodici, 27, of Doylestown, Pa., Saturday, according to a press release issued this afternoon.

The couple have known each other since high school, but only started dating a few years ago, according to the release. Reina has a 4-year-old daughter, Lola, from a prior relationship, the release says. I’m assuming that’s her with Reina and Justin in the photo at right.

They apparently decided to get married in December of last year, when Justin was in Florida at Disney’s EPCOT Center filming hosting clips for the American Idol Experience at the theme park in Orlando.

The release says an intimate family wedding will be held on a private estate along the Delaware River, not far from both their families’ homes in Pennsylvania.

Justin hasn’t exactly enjoyed an overwhelming amount of success in music since his time on Idol, but he has been on TV a lot.

He hosts “Idol Tonight” for the TV Guide Channel and covered the red carpet at the Emmys for same channel last weekend. He also appeared on the CMT reality show “Gone Country” earlier this year. Sheila E. won the competition.

And, of course, there’s at least a bit of a musical connection between Reina and Justin. Reina’s dad, Bernie, is a member of a Philadelphia-based jazz band, Drivetime. The group released a CD called Reflections back in July.

You can go here to learn more about that project. In fact, follow this link and you’ll hear Justin sing “What You Won’t Do For Love.”

Meanwhile, best of luck, Reina and Justin.
