“Sparkle” hasn’t been a mega-hit at the box office, but the film role has certainly raised the profile of Jordin Sparks, American Idol’s Season 6 winner.
There she was again Monday night, signing the national anthem to kick off the U.S. Open.
And looking splendid doing it, judging from the photos provided by The Associated Press.
As for “Sparkle,” the film finished five at the box office in its opening week, earning $14.7 million.
Last week, it dropped all the way to number 11, pulling in $4.2 million.
As for Sparks, who plays the lead in the film, she’ll be performing national anthem duties at another high-profile event next month — the PGA’s Ryder Cup on Sept. 27.
