Hey, Allison Iraheta. Hey, Kris Allen.
Quick, call Oprah.
Plead with her. Beg with her.
But get on her show.
Adam Lambert had an extended interview on Oprah last week.
He also sang his new single, “Whataya Want From Me,” and met with two special fans during the rehearsal for that performance.
Look what happened in this week’s Billboard music charts.
The single zoomed from 55 to 37 on the Hot 100. That’s the highest any of Adam’s three singles have climbed.
Fact is, none of the three had climbed higher than number 50 before this week.
As for his album, it debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and slipped to 22 a week later. Lately, it had been hovering between 30 and 40 on that chart.
This week, “For Your Entertainment” bolts from 35 to 21.
The Oprah effect?
You decide.
Note: Tomorrow, I’ll provide a complete rundown of Idols on the music charts, as I do each Friday.
