Did American Idol find the next Kellie Pickler in Atlanta?
You be the judge. Check out the video of Holly Hardin‘s audition below. Then check out her performance on America’s Got Talent back in 2008.
The similarities are striking. I mean, like Kellie, this Holly is quite the character.
She showed up for her Idol audition dressed as a guitar. “People say, ‘We want to strum you,'” she told Ryan Seacrest during Wednesday’s show.
Simon Cowell was less amused. But by the end of the audition, Holly had won over even him.
Apparently, auditioning for reality shows is old hat for Holly. On her MySpace, she says America’s Got Talent was the ninth reality show she had auditioned for.
“Yes, it was my first time being on a plane,” she writes of that experience. “Y’all should have seen me … I even had a barf bag that they provided for being so high up. I was terrified, but it was something I will never regret doing.”
The 20-year-old hails from Rockmart, Ga. She’s an aspiring country singer, and you can check out three of her songs on that MySpace page.
Acording to her profile there, she was working on a 10-track country album to be named “H.E.A.R.T.” in Nashville. But the site also says she isn’t signed to a record label and the album doesn’t have a release date.
I’ve also included a video of Holly singing “Wring Your Longneck,” which she describes as one of the songs on her album.
And, at the bottom of this blog, you’ll find YouTube videos of two other stars of Wednesday’s audition show — Keia Johnson and Jermaine Sellers — as well as the audition video for a gal lots of folks will be rooting for, Vanessa Hughes.
If you missed Wednesday’s show, make sure you watch that one.

And you’re not likely to find this gal on MySpace, so I decided to included her Idol audition video. Please watch. It’s tough not to root for this gal.
