Today, Candice Glover tweeted that she was in the studio, recording her second single.
Sunday, she’ll make one of her highest profile appearances since winning American Idol.
She’s been selected to sing the national anthem at the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C.
The concert will air live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, 8 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Pre-Idol, Candice noted that she sang the national anthem for three years for Marine graduates’ families at a meet and greet program back home in South Carolina.
“I’m so exited that I can graduate from that and sing the national anthem at the Capitol,” the Season 12 Idol winner said.
Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise will co-host the event, which will also feature performances by The National Symphony Orchestra, Katherine Jenkins, Tony-award winning tenor Alfie Boe and former Voice finalist Chris Mann.
