Kat Robichaud must be smiling from ear to ear right now.

On Monday, the Season 5 contestant from The Voice launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new album.

Her goal: $20,000.

As of 9 a.m. Friday  — in just four days — nearly $25,000 had already been pledged by fans.

Impressive.

But not altogether surprising.

Kat, 29 when she auditioned for The Voice, was one of the most talented rockers — male or female — featured during the show’s first five seasons.

If anything, her voice and performance flair should have taken her deeper than her eventual top 10 finish. She crowd surfed during a performance of “Sail” and never missed a note, for crying out loud.

Oh, well, that’s in the past. The future is Kat’s post-show album, which she’s hoping to complete by September, according to her Kickstarter pitch.

What does she have in mind?

“A theatrical rock explosion album straight from my beating heart to yours,” she writes on Kickstarter.

Then she embeds a couple of videos from the very fine “Young America” album released in 2011 by her pre-Voice band, “The Design.”

“To give you an idea of the even weirder things to come,” she writes.

While she didn’t win The Voice, Kat credits the show with giving her confidence and making her feel accepted because of all the fan support she enjoyed.

“This is the right time in my life to make the album I’ve always wanted to make” because of that added confidence and support, she says on Kickstarter.

As for that $20,000 goal — well, there’s no problem with continuing to pledge, even though the goal has been reached. After all, reward packages are offered to supporters based on the amount of their pledge.

“If we exceed the goal, I’ll be able to put more into the album and make it even better,” she writes.

And there are 25 days left in this Kickstarter campaign.

To check out Kat performing an acoustic version of “Reckless Boys,” one of the songs from “Young America,” head here. She performed the song on WNCN in her hometown of Raleigh, N.C., earlier this week.

Now I’ll embed my two favorite songs from “Young America.”

And eagerly await the new music.

“Burn”

“Scream”
