When Cassadee Pope performed “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart” on The Voice, she was already imagining the video for the song.

She figured there would be a “big hanging heart that I’d be whacking at” for a good portion of the video.

Cassadee Pope released the video to “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart” this week.

It wound up better than that.

There was a big hanging heart all right. A steel heart, suspended from a ceiling.

With Cassadee inside, singing the latest single from her “Frame by Frame” album.

“I Wish I Could Break Your Heart” is her followup single to “Wasting All These Tears,” which became a top five country hit.

The new single is even catchier, and Cassadee sure looks like she could break her share of hearts in the video.

But that’s not what the song is about.

Cassadee explained it this way back when she released her debut country album: “Everybody has that person in their life that can break them down anytime they want, and you’re so vulnerable with this person. And all you wish you could do is do the same to them.”

Cassadee fans around here might be thrilled to know that she has two Pa. shows coming up next month.

She’ll perform at Clarion University on Friday, March 28, as part of CampusFest. If tickets are available to the public, they’ll go on sale March 10. Head here for more info.

And she’ll be even closer the following night, performing at Shippensburg University. Tickets for that show are $25 for the public, $15 for students. Head here for tickets. County singer Sam Hunt will open at both shows.
