The day before the CMT Music Awards, Lzzy Hale sent out this tweet: “They aren’t expecting me … so they are gonna get All of me!”

Did they ever.

And they loved it.

The lead singer for the rock band Halestorm joined Eric Church for a rollicking version of “That’s Damn Rock and Roll” Wednesday night on a stage Lzzy probably never thought she’d grace.

No matter. She punctuated the performance with a couple of brilliant shrieks and her patented power vocals — the vocals that earned her band a 2013 Grammy for best hard rock/metal performance.

The reaction?

USA Today listed the performance as one of the show’s top 5 moments, saying “Church and the Halestorm frontwoman turned this tune from Church’s The Outsiders album into a barnburner reminiscent of AC/DC and the Rolling Stones.”

Billboard also called it one of the evening’s highlights.

Even perezhilton.com called it the “perfect combination” of country and rock and roll.

Oh, and the song, which isn’t even a single, had rocketed into the top 100 on the iTunes singles chart Thursday morning.

Missed the performance? Head here to watch it. You’ll be impressed.

And if Wednesday was your first introduction to Lzzy, check out her band’s excellent 2012 album, “The Strange Case of …”

Meanwhile, don’t forget that Lzzy and her band will be joining Church on several tour dates later this year.

And the lady rocker who grew up in Red Lion and her band will be in a more customary rock setting nearby — The Shindig Festival in Baltimore, Md. — on Sept. 27.
