We’ve heard very little in terms of new music from American Idol’s Season 12 cast.

Sure, winner Candice Glover released a debut album.

But other than a couple of Christmas singles from Angie Miller, the total new music output from the rest of that year’s finalists is a single called “Healed,” released earlier this year by Paul Jolley.

Good news. We’re about to hear from another of that year’s top singers, fifth-place finisher Janelle Arthur.

Janelle tweeted out the news yesterday, announcing that a single called “What You Asked For” will be out Tuesday.

Pre-release sales started Friday.

Janelle, 24, made the finals in her third try at American Idol.

The gal from Oliver Springs, Tenn., has been performing since she was 8 and cast as a young Dolly Parton in a show at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

If you don’t remember Janelle and haven’t guessed by now, she sings country music and expressed a desire to record traditional country music when eliminated from Idol.
