Adam Levine pitted two of his most powerful female vocalists against one another in the knockout round Tuesday night.

And in a close decision, Mia Pfirrman earned the right to represent Team Adam in the live rounds in two weeks.

The 19-year-old from Temple City, Calif., performed Christina Perri’s “Human,” delivering a cover of the song filled with vocal fireworks.

But it wasn’t only her impressive vocals that impressed Adam. He also liked the fact that she performed in a pressure situation like she had “ice water” in her veins.

Mia defeated talented Alessandra Castronovo, 21, of Millstone Township, N.J.

She sang “Next to Me” by Emeli Sande, but was not stolen, meaning she was eliminated from the competition.
