David Cook returning to the area for February show

1
off a successful fundraising drive for brain cancer research, David Cook has announced that he’ll be returning to the area in February.

David will play a Sunday, Feb. 8, show at Ram’s Head on Stage in Annapolis, Md. Tickets for the 1 p.m. show are $29.50.

And if you’d like to go, you’d better get your ticket soon. They’re going fast, a testament to David’s popularity even more than six years after winning Season 7 of American Idol. Head here for details.

As for the fundraising drive, David has been involved in supporting brain cancer research ever since losing his brother to the disease that same year he won Idol.

Through his participation in the Washington, D.C., Race for Hope, David and his fans had raised about $930,000 over the years. The fundraiser was designed to get that total to $1 million.

It was a success. David and friends raised more than $72,000 through the CrowdRise campaign, and he celebrated with a show at Jammin’ Java in the D.C. suburbs that was also available via Livestream.

David has already announced that he’ll be participating in the 2015 Race for Hope, set for May 3 in D.C.

Meanwhile, he has a new single out called “Wait for Me” (that’s it above, of course) and is putting the finishing touches on a new album, according to his website.

I appreciate that you always acknowledge David Cook’s efforts for this very worthy cause. Raising $70,000 in one month to get to the $1M goal was a huge challenge I honestly wasn’t sure could be met. It was such a joyful moment of celebration when that goal was reached during the concert. It’s also great to see up-to-date information about his music and current videos in your article. I enjoyed watching the video of the full-band debut of his new single, “Wait For Me”. What a great live performance. I love the new songs he’s previewed, and am really looking forward to his new album.
