Kelly Clarkson has announced the cancellation of six dates on her Piece by Piece tour.

And those dates include this weekend’s two shows in the D.C. area and the tour’s only Philly area show, which had been set for Sunday, Sept. 20, in Camden, N.J.

Kelly also cancelled a Tuesday show in Tampa, Fla.; a Thursday show in West Palm Beach, Fla., and a Saturday show in Raleigh, N.C.

Kelly announced the cancellations in a series of Tweets.

#1. “So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates. This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice!”

#2. “I can’t wait to get healthy and see y’all back on the road soon. I hate canceling…”

#3. “…and I am truly sorry to my fans that have been excited to see this show.”

#4. “Please know that I never cancel anything unless it’s absolutely necessary.”

Fans were sympathetic in their responses on Facebook, telling Kelly they hoped for a speedy recovery.

Jamie Joeyen-Waldorf: “Had second row tix at Wolf Trap! Bummed out but please feel better, Kelly, and I hope DC can see you another time soon!!”

Chris Spears: “My heart just shattered … was so excited to see you in Camden. But I know you wouldn’t cancel unless you absolutely have to. Love you Kelly, feel better soon!!”

Casey Fitzsimmons: “I love you so much and I’m so thankful I was able to see you on this tour 5 times. Thank you for everything and I hope you feel better soon.”

Zac Ward summed up fans’ reaction well, writing “Kelly, it’s pretty awesome to see all of the comments focusing on you getting better instead of being upset. You have some awesome fans who LOVE some KC.”

Kelly opened this tour in Hershey, so hopefully local fans caught that show.

The tour’s remaining shows are in Canada, with the next one scheduled for Oct. 1 in Ottawa.
