The American Music Awards weren’t just about awards, of course.
The three-hour show was packed with plenty of performances.
Among those taking the stage: Carrie Underwood, American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez and The Voice coach Gwen Stefani.
Jennifer opened the night with a performance of her song “Waiting for Tonight,” then did a dance number to a medley of nominated songs.
Carrie Underwood performed “Heartbeat” from her new “Storyteller” album.
And Gwen Stefani sang a “new, personal” tune, “Used to Love You.”
