Her audition: Katherine Ho, 16, of Thousand Oaks, Calif., auditioned with Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams.” We saw just a snippet of her audition because she was part of a montage package. But she got chair turns from Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. She joins Adam’s team after he called her vocals “ethereal.”
Her background: The Voice website tells us that Katherine wants to pursue music even though both of her parents — Chinese immigrants — have graduate degrees and work in science. She started playing piano at age 5 and taking vocal lessons at age 9. Her vocal teacher landed Katherine some session work on the 2010 film “Valentine’s Day.” She also attended A Cappella Academy, a summer camp founded by Pentatonix’s Avi Kaplan.
What the show didn’t show:
On iTunes: Just her Voice performance.
