Pope served up a dual treat for fans Friday morning.

Her four-track “Summer” EP hit iTunes at midnight.

And the Season 3 winner of The Voice also released the video for the title track.

During an earlier Facebook chat, Cassadee described “Summmer” as a song about a past summertime romance.

“Sometimes when things like that start quickly, they also end quickly,” she said. “Kind of the sentiment that nothing really bad happened. It was just a summer thing that was intense and awesome.”

That mood is certainly captured in the video. Cassadee told SoundsLikeNashville.com that the video is “steamy and a little bit more daring than anything I’ve ever done before.”

As for the EP, it features three Cassadee co-writes plus a song called “Kisses at Airports.” That song and one called “Piano” are brand new to listeners. She’s been performing “Summer” and “Alien” in concert for a while now.

On iTunes, the “Summer” EP had already cracked the Top 10 on iTunes country chart by 8:30 a.m.

It was sitting at number six, behind new releases by Dan & Shay and Maren Morris, who dropped her debut album Friday. It was at 27 on the overall albums chart. By 3:30 p.m., it was up to number 19 overall and number five on he county chart.
