After The Voice

Silent no more, Teresa Guidry releases new country EP

You’re forgiven if you don’t remember Teresa Guidry from Season 10 of The Voice.

After all, her audition was montaged (two chairs turned for her cover of “Girl Crush” and she joined Team Blake).

And her battle round match with Angie Keilhauer was montaged too (they sang “Backseat of a Greyhound Bus,” Angie was declared the winner).

Which means Teresa sang twice on the show and we never got to hear her sing. Which I thought at the time was a shame because in profiling the contestants I stumbled across three impressive original songs Teresa had posted to Soundcloud.

The story has a happy ending. Those three songs are all now available for download as a part of a six-track self-titled EP Teresa released to iTunes Friday.

I’ve embedded “Red Wine” below. And you really need to check out “The Last Time” and the wonderfully plaintive vocal Teresa delivers on “Just Doing Me.”

Teresa was 22 when she auditioned for The Voice. She’s from Rock Hill, S.C., but had relocated to Nashville to pursue a career in country music.

And though her stint on the show was short, it made her a celebrity of sorts in Rock Hill.

She recently held an EP release party at The Courtroom in Rock Hill. And that followed a performance of the national anthem at a pre-season game between the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers that Teresa called “one of the coolest moments of my life.”

You can follow Teresa through Facebook and her website. On Twitter, she’s @teresaguidry.

Now, enjoy “Red Wine.”
