Time to check out more recent singles released from artists who previously appeared on The Voice.

Laces, formerly Charlotte Sometimes, originally Jessie Poland, has released a new single called “Screw Me.”

And she admits it might sound a bit familiar to her fans. That’s because she’s reworked the chorus of a 2015 single — “Love Me Sober” — into the new song.

“When I originally wrote ‘Love Me Sober,’ the narrative was more victim-ish and vulnerable and as time progressed I felt like I wanted to give the narrator more power,” Laces says. “I liked the idea of making the song more of an anthem and less of a tear jerker.”

The song is the third in a series Laces has released recently, coming on the heels of “Freedom” and the ridiculously catchy “Some Body to F–k.”

Paxton Ingram, a Top 8 finisher from Season 10, has released his debut single.

The song is called “Sober” and is off his upcoming EP “Recover,” expected to be released sometime next month. Paxton co-wrote the song, which was produced by Drew ‘Druski’ Scott.

“I can’t wait to get the whole project out because I just know the fans are going to eat it up,” Paxton told New Music Buzz earlier this week. A music video for “Sober” will also be coming soon, he said.

You’ll recall that Paxton was the very first singer we met in Season 10. He needed a Blake Shelton save to advance to the finals, but once there made the most of the opportunity.

His biggest Voice moment came on Top 11 night when he performed “Break Every Chain” and topped all contestants on iTunes the next day, cracking the Top 20 on the singles chart and hitting number one on the Christian singles chart.

Don’t be surprised if you see Paxton on The Voice again in Season 11. In that New Music Buzz interview, he talks about working as a digital behind-the-scenes correspondent along with Season 10 winner Alisan Porter.

Trey O’Dell, also from Season 10, has released a new song to support his college, the University of Arkansas.

Proceeds from sales of the song — “Arkansas for Life” — will benefit Campaign Arkansas and help fund scholarship to the university, according to Trey’s Facebook page. You can check out the accompanying music video below.

The overall campaign has a goal of $1 billion and has raised more than 50 percent of that amount.

This marks Trey’s first release since the show, but he released a five-track EP last December. And in 2014, the Elvis fan released a cover of The King’s “It’s Alright,” recorded in the very studio where Elvis recorded the original.

Trey was 20 when he auditioned for The Voice and landed a spot on Team Blake with his cover of “Geronimo.”

He advanced all the way to the knockout round before being eliminated in a match with eventual Top 8 finisher Bryan Bautista.
