Barrett Baber from The Voice Season 9 released his new album Nov. 4.

In case you missed it, Season 9 Voice standout Barrett Baber released a new album Friday.

And “Room Full of Fighters” is not an album you want to miss.

In fact, shortly after its release, it shot up to number nine on the iTunes country albums chart, despite being released independently.

“I’m really proud of this record,” Barrett told KNWA in Arkansas. “By far my best effort yet and it couldn’t come at a better time.”

On “Room Full of Fighters,” he serves up excellent ballads (“What the Hell” and “Pretty Things”), catchy upbeat tunes (“Lived In” and “Keep It Real”) and even covers the Cars’ “Drive.”

But my favorite might be the haunting and album closing “Still Stands.”

Barrett previously released “Kiss Me Hello” as the album’s lead single.

Barrett placed third behind Jordan Smith and Emily Ann Roberts on Season 9 of The Voice. In the process, his covers landed in the Top 10 on the iTunes singles chart three times.

Pre-Voice, Barrett released a pair of albums and an EP, with the most recent being the six-song “Falling Again,” released in February 2015.

To celebrate the release of the new album, Barrett has three shows scheduled on the “Room Full of Fighters” tour around Arkansas next month. He’ll also be performing at halftime of the Live United Texarkana Bowl at Razorback Stadium Dec. 3.

And he says the “Room Full of Fighters” tour will branch out to other locations next year.

You can find out more about those upcoming shows on Barrett’s website. You can also follow him through Facebook and on Twitter, where he’s simply @BarrettBaber.
