Nominees were announced on Tuesday. Joining Carrie and Kelly on the list are Jennifer Hudson, Season 3 Voice winner Cassadee Pope and former Idol judge Keith Urban.

Carrie owns seven of 13 Grammys won by former American Idol contestants. This year she’s nominated for best country solo performance for “Church Bells” from her “Storyteller” album.

And remember Kelly’s oh-so emotional performance of “Piece by Piece” when she returned as a guest judge on Idol last spring. The recording earned her a nomination for best pop solo performance.

As or Cassadee, she’d become the first former contestant from The Voice to win a Grammy if she and Chris Young prevail in the best country duo or group performance category. They’re nominated for their number one duet, “Think of You.”

Beyonce leads all artists with nine nominations, followed by eight apiece for Rihanna and Drake. Adele received five nominations and will get going head to head with Beyonce for album of the year, record of the year and song of the year honors.

Best Country Duo/Group Performance: “Think of You” by Chris Young with Cassadee Pope, “Different for Girls” by Dierks Bentley, featuring Elle King, “21 Summer” by Brothers Osborne, “Setting the World on Fire” by Kenny Chesney & P!nk, “Jolene” by Pentatonix featuring Dolly Parton

Best Pop Solo Performance: “Piece by Piece (Idol Version)” by Kelly Clarkson, “Hello” by Adele, “Hold Up” by Beyonce, “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber, “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande

Best Musical Theater Album: “The Color Purple,” featuring Jennifer Hudson and Cythia Erivo; “Bright Star,” featuring Carmen Cusack; “Fiddler on the Roof,” featuring Danny Burstein; “Kinky Boots,” featuring Killian Donnelly & Matt Henry; “Waitress,” featuring Jessie Mueller.

Carrie and Kelly were also nominated for Grammys in the same categories in 2016, but failed to win. They were beaten out by Chris Stapleton and Ed Sheeran, respectively.
