The single is called “All That Matters,” and you can check out the lyric video below.
The album will be called “Identity;” an official release date hasn’t been announced.
En route to a seventh place finish on Season 11 of American Idol, Colton made no secret that he planned to pursue a career in Christian music.
He’s followed through on the promise. His first two albums — “Messenger” from 2013 and “Anchor” from 2014 — both debuted at number one on Billboard’s Christian albums chart.
What’s more, both earned Dove Awards for the year’s top rock/contemporary Christian album.
Expect a bit of a different sound on album number three.
“This is the most fun record that I’ve made so far,” Colton said in a Facebook chat with fans. “It’s kind of a party record. There are tons of songs on this record you just want to dance to. At least I feel that way. I’m a little biased.”
That Facebook chat also includes an acoustic version of “All That Matters.”
Colton will be playing some of that new music on the Winter Jam Tour, which also features Crowder, Britt Nicole, Sadie Robertson and others.
The tour runs through April 2 and includes a stop at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center on March 24.
