When he parted ways with Big Machine Records, Nick announced that he’d still be releasing a music video for “Love is Blind,” the third single off his “Hurricane” album.

Given the title and the subject matter, the original announced release date of Feb. 14 made a whole lot of sense.

Turns out the video arrived about three weeks early. Wonder if the Christmas decorations that are prominent in it factored into that decision.

Anyway, the video features Nick singing the song as a surprise for a newly married couple.

Nick explains the genesis of the song and video on his Facebook page.

“When I first sat down and wrote ‘Love Is Blind’ with two other great writers, I said ‘let’s write a love song that people will play at weddings.’ Over a year after I wrote the song, I was able to surprise a couple and play it for their first dance as husband & wife.”
