So, what do you think the odds are that David Cook will be singing Idol’s farewell song this season?
You know, the song that’s heard at the end of every Idol results show?
In the past week or so, we’ve gotten the following tweets from David …
1. “Hey hey! Busy week! Mixing 🙂 and recording an extra treat that you may get to hear on your TV next week.”
2. “Clarification: I have a busy week AHEAD of mixing and working on something special… which should surface the week after. :)”
3. “Was just informed by TPTB (the powers that be) that that “extra treat” I worked on last week will air on march 3rd!”
March 3 just happens to be the first American Idol results show of season 10.
(Idol will be on three times next week, with the top 12 boys performing Tuesday, the top 12 girls on Wednesday and a results show Thursday that will review the season 10 finalists in a new semifinal format that ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. But that’s a topic for a future blog.)
Anyway, maybe I’m jumping to a hasty conclusion here … about the farewell song.
But at the same time we’ve been getting those tweets from David, this comes from dizzyfeet himself (Nigel Lythgoe): “Simon Fuller has been working on the “kiss-off” track for #AmericanIdol this Season. I think it’s great.”
If David is singing the Idol farewell song, it’s a nice coup for him.
After all, David fans are anxiously awaiting the release of his second album.
By the way, when will we get that new album, David?

It would be so awesome, and so well deserved, if David gets the farewell song! I would LOVE to hear him every week on my TV again….and I can’t wait for his upcoming album. If it’s anything like his 1st post-Idol one, it’ll be amazing!
Seeing or hearing David Cook on AI would be my only reason for watching it now. David Cook is the greatest talent to ever come out of that show; it’s just not the same without him. I CANNOT wait for his new cd to come out, and will be buying it the day it drops.
I like David, but I would love to see Carrie Underwood on finale!!!!Maybe they could do a duet!!!!
