Five years after her run on The Voice, RaeLynn has released her debut album.

Five years after her run on The Voice, RaeLynn has released her debut album.

It took two record labels and five years, but former Voice standout RaeLynn finally has a debut album.

And the wait was apparently worth it.

Forty-eight hours after the release of “WildHorse,” the album is number six on iTunes albums chart. It’s still number one on the site’s country albums chart.

Clearly, fans were as hungry for this debut as RaeLynn was.

RaeLynn finished in the Top 16 on Season 2 of The Voice, then signed with Republic Nashville. That union produced a hit single (“God Made Girls”) and an EP (2015’s “Me”), but never a full-length album.

Now 22, RaeLynn parted ways with Republic Nashville last year and was quickly signed by Warner Bros. Nashville, which also just happens to be the label for her Voice coach Blake Shelton.

And on Friday, she released “WildHorse.”

Then again, she told The Tennessean the album probably should have been called “Josh” since husband Josh Davis inspired so many of the songs, both good and bad.

They met when RaeLynn was 18, dated for eight months, then separated for two years before reuniting. They were married last year.

“I think that’s why this record is so special to me,” she told the newspaper. “I see the growth of the people we’ve become and what we went through.”

RaeLynn has a writing credit on 11 of the album’s 12 tracks. She gets a major assist from another Voice alum, songwriter Niccole Galyon, who has a writing credit on eight of the songs.

They wrote RaeLynn’s current hit, “Love Triangle,” with Jimmy Robbins. It’s currently number 29 on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart and 38 on the site’s Hot Country Songs chart.

RaeLynn’s also planning a headlining tour this spring. You can check out dates on her website or Facebook page.

Now, here are two of my favorite tracks from RaeLynn’s new album.
