And it turns out that Voice fans loved their performance.
Jack Cassidy and Hunter Plake scored the biggest iTunes hit so far in Season 12 with their cover of “Dancing On My Own.”
As of noon, the song was number 25 on the iTunes overall singles chart. It was number 10 on the site’s pop singles chart.
No song from Season 12 — from the blind auditions or so far in the battles — has done better.
Jack and Hunter were singing for Team Alicia Keys. When the battle ended, Alicia opted to advance Jack to the knockout round.
No problem for Hunter, who promptly had steal options with Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani. He opted to join Team Gwen.
Jack, a worship leader, is the grandson of Shirley Jones. Hunter also grew up singing in church and said the blind audition marked his first performance on a stage outside church.
Seven of the nine songs from Monday’s show charted. Also noteworthy is the fact that Stephanie Rice and Caroline Sky cracked the Top 20 on the rock chart while Vanessa Ferguson and Autumn Turner did the same on the R&B singles chart.
And here’s another first: Though their performance was montaged, Troy Ramey and Jozy Bernadette squeaked into the Top 200 on the rock chart.
That’s the first time a montaged song has charted in Season 12.
Here’s where all the songs stood as of noon, which is when voting ends following a live performance show on The Voice.

Hahmmmm I believe that Julien Martinez was at #2 with “Pride and Joy” for a few days in the Blues Genre Singles chart for a few days
Yes, but please keep in mind this is referring to the overall singles chart. The genre charts aren’t equal. In this case Julien — and he’s a fine singer — placed 2nd on the blues chart, but the song didn’t sell enough downloads to make the overall singles chart. Some charts — reggae, blues, even rock — aren’t as competitive as others — country and pop, for instance.
