But they recently released a cover of the song, courtesy of producer Kurt Hugo Schneider, and it’s impossible to argue with the results.
Will and Lauren sound magnificent. And when the chorus joins in near the end — pure music magic.
Which is probably why the video has been viewed more than 300,000 times in less than a week.
The song is featured on Schneider’s recently released “Kurt and Company, Vol. 3” album, which includes covers of 13 others hits as well, included “Earned It” and “Safe and Sound.”
The release marks the first for Lauren since she finished second on Season 12 of The Voice.
“My trip to LA was complete when I got to collab with Kurt Schneider and Will Champlin — I’m pretty excited about this cover!” Lauren told followers on Facebook.
The release comes as Will — the third-place finisher from Season 5 — works on a new album.
In fact, Will also released a catchy single from that album, “Indigo,” and is promising a video for the song soon.
If you haven’t heard it, here’s that song.
