MacKenzie Bourg, from American Idol Season 15, has a new single out.

Just before releasing his new single, MacKenzie Bourg wrote on Facebook that it would mean the world to him if the song hit number one on iTunes singer-songwriter chart.

Mission accomplished.

In fact, “Lost & Found” was sitting at number one on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart at midnight, 24 hours after its release. And 12 hours later, at noon eastern time on Saturday, it’s still there.

You can check out the new single below.

It was a long time coming, but MacKenzie told Billboard it’s representative of the music fans will hear when he drops his upcoming album.

“To me ‘Lost & Found’ is the perfect jump off point for all the music that’s going to follow it,” the 25-year-old said.

“I think it sets the bar to show fans that everything I’ve done in the past year has been for the music, and the quality will show not only in ‘Lost & Found,’ but in the album I release and the sound of the songs live when I begin to tour.”

We first met MacKenzie on Season 3 of The Voice, when he made it to the Top 20 as a member of Team Cee Lo Green.

Three years later, he auditioned for Season 15 of American Idol and made it even farther, finishing fourth behind Trent Harmon, La’Porsha Renee and Dalton Rapatonni.

He impressed judges with an original song — “Roses” — during Idol’s final season on FOX and released that song as a single when the show ended. He followed it up with a second single, “Little Moon,” last summer.

This is his first solo single since, though he did release “Carnival” with teen pop artist Skyler back in late July. That song, streamed more than 130,000 times on Spotify, is supposed to be destined for Skyler’s debut EP.

No word yet on when MacKenzie’s album will be available.

“There’s definitely enough songs for a few albums,” he told fans in a Facebook chat earlier this year. “It’s just a matter of choosing the right ones.”

Here’s “Lost and Found.
