Camila Cabello snagged four awards and Carrie Underwood was also a winner at the American Music Awards Tuesday night.
Camila, the former Fifth Harmony member turned solo sensation, entered the night with five nominations.
As it turned out, the award in the only category in which she didn’t prevail – favorite female pop-rock artist – went to superstar Taylor Swift, the singer who invited Camila to be an opening act on her tour.
Taylor also had the distinction of opening Tuesday’s show and the honor of leaving with the night’s biggest award, Entertainer of the Year.
As for Camila, she snagged honors for best new artist and her hit song “Havana” earned three awards – favorite pop-rock song, video of the year and best collaboration of the year (the song also features Young Thug).
Carrie won the AMA for favorite female artist. She was up against Maren Morri and Kelsea Ballerini.
Tuesday’s show also featured performances by Camila, Carrie and former American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey.
Among the night’s biggest debates: Did Mariah sing or was she lip syncing?
Some things never change.
