Some of the highest praise during the Season 17 American Idol blind auditions was reserved for a singer-songwriter who might be a familiar face to some reality show fans.

Back in 2017, Evelyn Cormier, now 19, of Claremont, N.H., appeared on the fifth season of TLC’s “90-Day Fiance” with her now husband David Vázquez Zermeño.

The show features couples brought together on a 90-day fiance visa and focuses on their decision of whether or not to proceed with their marriage.

In the case of Evelyn and David, that was clearly a “yes.” Having recently celebrated her one-year anniversary, she showed off her wedding ring in the Idol audition room.

Outside the audition room, we were introduced to David. “He’s not musical, but he’s my biggest supporter,” Evelyn said.

Inside the audition room, Evelyn heard a resounding yes from the American Idol judges after her impressive cover of “Wicked Games.”

And why not? She showed off a rich, unique voice full of power.

Katy Perry called it “one of my favorite voices I’ve ever heard in my life.”

Check it out yourself below. Oh, and Evelyn’s one of the Idol contestants with original music you can check out too.
